Digital Social Innovation

Digital social innovations are novel solutions that use digital platforms to facilitate peer to peer interactions between citizens, communities and groups and that address a variety of social and environmental problems. In our recent research, we analyse 89 digital social innovations in France, and provide a taxonomy of these, with respect to the problems they address, their operational mechanism, their potential disruptive effects on existing capabilities in the economy, and how they shape – and are shaped by- existing relations between actors. Here is a link to the innovations in our study. For more on digital social innovations, visit our blog.
